It was all Antelopes from the very first snap of the game. Antelope Valley’s offense and defense dominated and did not allow Muir to generate anything in a 41-0 victory on Friday night in the CIF Southern Section Division 9 playoffs. Sophomore Devon Williams played brilliantly on both sides of the ball passing for 133 yards on 10 of 14 and one touchdown. He also had two interceptions. Seniors Morrell Osling and Chris Monterroso and sophomore Chris Lloyd also had interceptions, and Lloyd returned his interception for the final score. The other outstanding performance to mention was the power and slicing running of their running back Okyeame Thompson, who carried the ball 25 times for 153 yards and three touchdowns. “We played well on both sides of the ball tonight. Our guys will celebrate this one but come Monday we start preparing for our next game,” Antelopes head coach Ron Wilson said. “We have good athletes on both offense and defense and our goal is to give it all we have on every play. I think we came close to that tonight.” The Antelopes are now 9-2 on the season. They won the Golden League and the way they played tonight they should be strong contenders to get to the CIF final. Muir ended its season at 6-5. “We tried to mix it up on offensem but they’re too athletic for us and we couldn’t stop them. They’re a good team,” Muir coach Antyone Sims said. “I’m proud of our team and we have a lot to build on for next year.”
